The all-new Impreza WRX STI has been unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show.
With its styling cues coming from the 2008 Impreza WRC concept car, the 2008 Impreza WRX STI is striking with an aggressive and purposeful stance.
The new STI is 50mm shorter than the previous model, with an 85mm longer wheelbase and 40-45mm wider track. It is distinguished by pumped out guards, front bumper vents and a rear diffuser with quad exhausts.
While not due for official release until early next year, expect the performance credentials to be comparable to some of the world's best premium performance brands. With 221kW on tap, the new, third generation STI, boasts even more power and torque.
For the first time, STI will be offered in two trim levels - STI and STI Spec R (the latter with Recaro seats and lightweight BBS alloys). Both STI models when they arrive are expected to be priced between $60,000 and $70,000.
